After years of preparation, setbacks including COVID and cost inflation, and the completion of several successful fund-raising efforts, Bloomington Trinity held a Groundbreaking Ceremony on August 9, 2025, for the construction of a new church on the same property as their school location.  While the Ceremony was on one of the hottest days of the summer, the turnout was outstanding, to such an extent that Trinity’s leadership wondered if they shouldn’t be building a bigger church!

The CID-CEF is assisting Trinity by providing them with a $4 million loan for this new construction.  Your investments will support this loan.  Please consider a new investment at the CID-CEF to provide the resources to fund this loan for Trinity!  Thank you!

St. John’s High School, Mattoon, Dedication

God’s Kingdom continues to grow at Mattoon St. John’s!  On August 11, 2024, they dedicated their new high school, constructed in less than a year, with classes starting on August 14.  Thanks to the investments of our LCMS members and churches in Central Illinois, the Central Illinois District Church Extension Fund was able to provide St. John’s with a loan for the construction of this high school.  Praise to God!  Thank you for your continued support of your Central Illinois District Church Extension Fund!

The Central Illinois District has an exciting new mission to support!  Mattoon St. John’s is constructing a high school!   The Groundbreaking Ceremony across the street from their current church and school was held on Sunday, September 10, 2023, and was very well attended! It was a blessing to see the excitement of the future attendees of the school as they were asked to come up and participate in the groundbreaking – initially members of the first incoming class, followed by multiple groups from the elementary school.  The CID-CEF is supporting them in this endeavor by providing them with funding for the construction.  This is where YOU can help fulfill God’s mission to grow His Kingdom!  Your investments in the CID-CEF enable us to provide these loans that support our churches and schools; we are the ONLY church extension fund that provides these loans in the Central Illinois District.  Investments are open to LCMS members in Illinois – this includes individuals, churches, and schools.  Please call us at 217-793-1802 for more information on our mission, investment rates, and resources.
