CID-CEF Grants Awarded in 2025

Thanks to God’s blessings, the Central Illinois District Church Extension Fund (CID-CEF) returned over $70,000 in the form of grants for His work within the Central Illinois District and the LCMS at large. 

The grants will be used for a variety of needs throughout the District and beyond, as follows:

St. John’s, Effingham

Signboard - $5,000Reaching out to the Effingham community utilizing a street-side LED message board.

Immanuel, Tuscola

Not Ashamed Program - $3,000Offering the churched and unchurched in the Tuscola area training on engaging with the culture and living our lives as witnesses to Christ.

Faith, Sullivan

Community Pantry - $1,000 – Bringing hope to families in need in the community by supporting their physical and spiritual needs.

Springfield Lutheran High School

Financial Support - $13,232 – Providing financial support for funding of LuHi’s December mortgage payment.

Lutherans in the Central Illinois District:

  • Lay Leadership Development - $4,800 – enhancing the skillset of our lay leaders to provide strong leadership in our churches.
  • OAFC - $5,000 – providing financial support for our Ongoing Ambassadors for Christ recognized service organization.

Seminarians and Deaconess Students in the Central Illinois District

Seminarian and Deaconess Student Grants - $5,000 – Assisting with seminarians’ and deaconess students’ material needs as they prepare to support us with our spiritual needs.

Central Illinois District:

  • Digital Doorways - $15,000 – expanding and improving the online presence of our churches.
  • Exploring God’s Mission Here - $24,330 – gathering leaders from our congregations to discuss the most efficient manner of fulfilling God’s mission for our collective churches.
